Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator by Meg Cabot
    Reading level: Young Adult

My name is Susannah Simon, and I am a mediator -- a liason between the living and the dead. If you think this gets in the way of my attempt at a normal sixteen-year-old life, you'd be right. You try going to the mall while constantly being accosted by the undead.

Not that this is a bad thing all the time. Like, for example, when I discovered my bedroom is haunted by Jesse, the ghost of a nineteenth-century hottie. While I haven't made much progress with him (only one kiss so far), I remain optimistic. Jesse's inexplicable resistance to my charms is not my only obstacle, though: there's this other guy. A live one, who has the same gift of gab with the undead I have. In the same way I'm after Jesse, this guy is after me. And he knows how to send Jesse to the Great Beyond. For good.

So I guess you could say I'm haunted. I just never thought it would be by someone who isn't dead.

About the Author Armed with a fine arts degree from Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City, intent upon pursuing a career in freelance illustration. Illustrating, however, soon got in the way of Meg's true love, writing, and so she abandoned it and got a job as the assistant manager of an undergraduate dormitory at New York University, writing on the weekends, and whenever her boss wasn't looking.

Meg lives in New York City with her husband, Benjamin, a poet, financial market writer and fellow Hoosier, and their one-eyed cat, Henrietta.

this is Laayla. i am 14 years old living in milwaukee wisconsin. and i have to admit, this is the BEST BOOK I EVER READ. i am your average 14 year old, i sometimes play sporrts if i have the energy too, ok im a 4.0, and yeah i dont like books. this is the first book i read, that i loved. i couldn't stop reading it. it is 1 am in the morning right now and i just finished it like half an hour ago. i love this book. i cant explain it in words. i have to buy this book no matter what. and tomorrow when i return it, i know my teacher is going to hear about it from me a LOT. i loved it. i could relate to this girl even though i couldn't see GHOSTs or anything she can. I just..i love this book. but i am mad at one thing. yes i am. WHY ISN't THERE A MOVIE??????? i want to see a movie of this bad even though i know that no matter what happens, the movie can't be better than the book. also i have to read every mediator book by this author soon as possible. i am NOT a book worm. i repeat!!! but i would do anything, anything, to just see the movie. Suze in this book.....goes through what i did between boys. This have been the first book that put tears into my eyes. It had me on the edge of my seat!!! I cried over and over. I never cried. Never ever over a book before. Not even a movie, no matter what. I only cried at serious moments. Not even if my best friends were moving away. But this book, made me cry, and i am proud to say, that it was worth it. I just can't explain the feeling. It's like when I ....fell in words of this boy that I hated sooo much..and i exactly knew why except....i didn't. except the fact his looks.....just changed everything. but i hated him...and his looks made me say..."why?" but i love someone else right now. but this boy's looks......and the way he is...just makes me so hard to breathe. My only wish would be to be in this movie. I wouldn't have to act it, since that is how i would feel!!!! plus the fact, i can act good, but you know, wishes don't come true. im hesitating about love after reading this book. OMG! I LOVE THIS BOOK! i love this author! and i want to see a movie! who is with ME?! Well if you aren't, sir you disgust me. haha. Alright bye now. but i will be back. I love This Book. I Love It. Perfect. Fantastic. Thrilling. Scary. Motivating. Moving. Deep. Touching. Perfect. Too Good To Be True...
